About the Principal
Mrs. Anitha Nair K, the Principal of Mar Athanasius International School, is a dynamic and visionary leader with over 24 years of distinguished experience in the field of education. With 12 years in senior administrative roles across reputed institutions, she brings with her a wealth of expertise, insight, and a deep commitment to academic excellence.
Holding a Master’s degree in Chemistry and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mrs. Nair combines strong academic credentials with an unwavering passion for nurturing a culture of learning. As a dedicated teacher trainer, she has consistently worked to empower educators by fostering curiosity and promoting critical thinking among students.
In 2008, Mrs. Nair was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship under the International Leadership in Education Program (ILEP), which included an intensive five-month training program in the United States, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
With extensive experience in teaching Chemistry at IGCSE, A-Level, and ICSE/ISC curricula, she has also supported students pursuing the U.S.-based Clonlara homeschooling certificate. Her work includes designing and implementing teacher training modules focused on strategies such as differentiation and scaffolding, aimed at catering to diverse learner needs.
As an able administrator, Mrs. Nair has been instrumental in ensuring the effective functioning of institutions, excelling in areas like coordination, conflict resolution, and school management. She also played a key role in founding a Waldorf-inspired alternative school in Trivandrum and has consistently championed experiential learning approaches for students of varying abilities.
She is also the author of a unique interdisciplinary science/chemistry textbook for children titled “Why Are Appams Fluffy?”, which creatively explores scientific concepts through everyday experiences.
